Enamel Echoes
Interactive Performance
Challenge
How do we immerse the audience in performance, allowing them to engage with and influence the unfolding narrative? How do we create a performance around this traditional artforms using both sound and projection?
Overview
Enamel Echoes seeks to weave together the rich tapestries of Islamic art and music through interactive projections. Minakari is a traditional practice of ornamentation that uses enamel to create elaborate organic and geometric shapes. The projections depict the different stages of metal (pellets, liquid, and solid form)when creating 'Minakari'. Through Touch OSC the visuals were not only audio-reactive but also responded to the movement of devices present around the space for audience members to interact with.
